Amy & Nicolette

You want guidance from a professional who’s real—cuts the fluff, tells it straight, and actually helps. Someone with grit, edge, a solid bullshit detector, and just enough warmth so we don’t scare you off. Basically, the perfect mix of tough love and “okay, but seriously” vibes

…yeah, that’s us.

Meet Nicolette & Amy

The No B.S. Therapists helping couples finally heal.

Nicolette Ulstrom, LMFT, Gottman Trained, The Detail Queen

  • Trying to Stay Hydrated but Consistently Failing – I have so many cute water bottles… yet here I am, dehydrated again.

Being Weirdly Dedicated to My Solitaire Game

Getting Unreasonably Hyped to Shop at Aldi – Who knew discounted cheese and mystery aisle finds could bring this much joy?

  • Overstocking My Pantry Like I’m Preparing for the Apocalypse – Do I need this many cans of chickpeas? No. Do I feel comforted knowing they’re there? Yes.

  • Stop Comparing Your Sex Life to Everyone Else’s – Your best friend, that influencer couple, or the people in that one Reddit thread are not in your bed. What works for you and your partner is what matters—so focus on connection, not competition.

Therapy near me for relationships in crisis.

Amy Vredenburgh, LMFT, Gottman Trained, The Efficiency Queen

  • Doomscrolling Reddit Like It’s My Job – I came for one answer, and now it’s three hours later, and I have opinions on things I didn’t know existed.

Driving 10 Miles Under the Speed Limit When I'm Deep in Conversation – Sorry to everyone behind me, but this tea is priority #1.

Discovering a New Food Product and Panic-Buying 79 of Them – Turns out… one was enough.

  • Believing Watching Netflix with My Dog is Peak Friday Night – It’s not trash TV; it’s an experience.

  • Quit Waiting for the “Perfect Time” to Have Hard Conversations – In-person, text, voice memo, or carrier pigeon—just start talking and find a way that actually works. And once you’ve talked it out? Do. The. Damn. Thing. There’s only so much time we can spend rehashing the same problem—solutions and actions are what actually change things.

Where It All Began

In the parking lot of our master’s program (yep, really). Two baby therapists, wide-eyed and caffeinated, ready to do all the “am I even doing this right?” therapist-y things.

Fast forward: degrees, internships, and five years of grind. Boom—2016 hits. We pass the test, grab our licenses, and charge into the world, ready to bring as much good healing sh*t as we can muster.

Finding Our Jam

From community mental health to working for other practice owners, we put in our time. But what lit us up was watching people dig deep and do the at-the-root healing that actually sticks.

Cue the two-day couples retreat. We tried it, couples loved it, and so did we. For two years, we watched couples of all kinds find real breakthroughs. And then we thought…why not make it way more accessible?

Enter: the DIY retreat. Right at your fingertips—for couples who want to do the damn thing at half the price, skip the therapy route, or even add it on to what they’re already doing.
